President Hillery called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm. Minutes from the February meetings were reviewed. Paula Fritz made the motion to accept minutes as written, Laura Shansey seconded, and the motion carried.
The financial report was reviewed by treasurer, Cindy Kirbach. Laura Shansey made a motion to accept the report as presented, seconded by Jill Mitchell, motion carried.
TEACHER REPORTS:
High School Orchestra – Laura Plummer (e-mail)
- Spring Concert on February 26 went very well. It featured all the contest ensembles and 2 pieces by Symphonic Orchestra. The kids were well prepared and helped nerves for contest the following Saturday.
- IHSA Solo & Ensemble went really well. Thank you to all of the parents who helped.
- Thank you to everyone who helped with dinner auction.
- Symphonic Orchestra performed with AHS choirs this past Thursday at their Spring Concert.
- Stringsations is Thursday, March 28 at 7pm. This will be Symphonic Orchestra’s 5th concert in a month.
- Symphonic Orchestra performs at IHSA Solo & Ensemble Contest on April 12 at 1:30 pm.
- Pit sounds great for Hairspray. Show dates are May 2-4, 7 pm and May 5, 2pm.
Middle School Band & Orchestra – Email
- We are gearing up for Stringsations on Thursday and Organizational & Contest on April 6.
- Middle
School did well at solo & contest.
- Schumann and Jazzios received a first rating
- About 20 solo/ensemble performed. Every received either first, first superior or second. Both elementary and middle school participated.
High School Band – Alyssa Overmann
- Solo & Ensemble was good.
- Prepping for organizational in O’Fallon on the 12th.
- May 9 is Spring Concert.
- Winter Guard goes to Springfield this weekend. They are seated high for this contest.
- April 4 – Jazz on a Spring Evening

Hospitality

Communications – Mike Haynes
- Last month – Dinner Auction
- Upcoming – Vendor Fair
Technology – Tom Pullen

Ways and Means – Jamie Pullen
- McDonald’s raised $298
- Button Days scheduled for October 19.
- Butter Braids ended last week, about $970 profit.
Trivia Night – Tonya Duke
- Nothing to report
Craft Fair – Paula and Dave Fritz
- Nothing to report.
Dinner Auction – Ed Gray
- There were 113 purchased tickets
- Still need to look at ways to increase attendance for next year.
- Commons booked for next year so will be held in Gallery.
Spring Vendor Fair
- 110 vendors, 140 booths.
- Will have shifts for student workers.
- Need assistance with taping on Friday, 2pm.
- Vendors will be arriving 6-8pm on Friday.
- Need someone to sell bags and raffle tickets at front door.
Q for a Cause
- Next Meeting, Thursday, 6pm at Boys & Girls Club.
