Minutes of Meeting – August 24, 2015

President Hillery called to meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. In Secretary, Penny Boedeker’s absence, Vicki Schilling agreed to take minutes of this meeting. It is noted that Michaela Davis is to be added to the abob email distribution. Minutes of the July meeting were approved as presented & with the addition noted above by a motion by Rose Lammers, seconded by Paula Fritz. Cindy presented the treasurer’s report. Financial report was approved on a motion by Mike Haynes, seconded by Tom Pullen.
Teacher’s Report:
AHS Orchestra: Chamber is playing at a wedding in November.
AHS Band: Band Camp was fantastic. Last Friday was the Red/Gray scrimmage & Marching 100 performed sets 1 & 2. This Friday is a football game & Marching 100 performs at halftime. This Saturday is the SIUE Percussion: 100 Percussion performance at 3:00 at Korte Stadium. Pit is in need of more parent volunteers this season.
AMS/Elementary Orchestra: This Thursday is the Recruitment Rally at AHS at 6:30. A. Hillery reported that AMS Band tshirts are in the planning stages.
Hospitality:
Band Camp was great. Finalizing agenda/times for Marching 100 events. Communications Roma’s night was advertised & abob Car wash.

T. Pullen reported that there are updates to the site to better display information.
Alumni Event:
September 4th is due date to order shirt. Event is September 25.
Ways & Means:
Pie Town Gospel Fest will have an information booth with abob information this Saturday only. Cheese & Sausage kickoff tomorrow, August 25, 2015. Deadline for orders is September 8, & pickup will be approximately the week of September 28.
Trivia Night: Macie Henkhaus is coordinating baskets. Diane Vromen will coordinate section baskets.
Craft Fair: Progress is being made. Many booths reserved and paid. Still have room.
Car Wash: Last Saturday students, staff, & parent volunteers were able to have car wash for 1 1⁄2 hours before a lightening/rainstorm cancelled the event. Presale tickets will be good for rescheduled event date.
Old Business:
Instrument donation letter sent out was successful. Donations included brand new instrument, gently used, some needing repair, & some for parts.
New Business:
Planning of a 5k Walk/Run/March fundraising event. Vendor Fair will be Saturday, March 19, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Vendor’s only, Chris’ Cakes, 100, orchestra & choir will sell tickets.
