Executive Board Meeting Minutes – July 22, 2019

TEACHERS IN ATTENDANCE:

President Waggoner called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm. Minutes from the May meeting were reviewed due to cancellation of June meeting. Laura Plummer made the motion to accept minutes as written, Tonya Duke seconded, and the motion carried.
The financial report was reviewed by Cindy Kirbach, Treasurer. Paula Fritz made a motion to accept the report as presented, seconded by Dawn Humphrey, motion carried.
TEACHER REPORTS:
High School Orchestra – Laura Plummer
- Lindsey Wolford – New Orchestra teacher for East
- Alexis Leggs – New High School Choir Teacher
- Leah Galbraith – New music teacher for West
Middle School Band & Orchestra –
High School Band – Alyssa Overmann
- 40 Freshman this year. Best rehearsing band ever had.
- VP – Discuss uniforms for next year.
- M100 going really well. Band Camp starts next week.
Committee Reports:
Hospitality –
- Still need someone to fill position.
Communications – Tonya Duke
- Save the date for Trivia Night out.
- Working on setting up events for the year.
Technology – Roger Waggoner
- Current page is through a host site that Tom Pullen uses for other things. Proposal to choose our own host site and pay fees through ABOB at approximate $100 per year.
- Paula Fritz made motion to go forward with new host site for ABOB. Net, seconded by Cindy Kirbach, motion carried.
Ways and Means –
- Still need someone to fill position.
- New vendor for fall fundraiser to replace butter breads, 40% profit.
- Dine out, Wednesday, August 14 at Roma’s, all day dine in and carry out. Need to mention ABOB. Flyer for last day to parents as reminder.
- 10% of sales up to $3000 then 15%.
- Laura reaching out to Shivers for after Red Gray scrimmage.
- Looking at Olga’s and Luciana’s for October and November.
Trivia Night – Tonya Duke
- Everything coming together.
- Need round sponsors. $100
- Doing table decorating contest. People can vote with cash for favorite table. Winner will get back $50 of table fees.
Craft Fair – Paula Fritz
- 138 crafters. Have about 6 empty spaces. Looking at possibility of opening more of lower level, giving 25 more spots.
- Have talked with Athletic Director and no basketball game on Friday evening.
Dinner Auction – Ed Gray
- Nothing to report
Spring Vendor Fair – Ruth Waggoner
- Trying to transition to Middle School directors to assist. Create committee to assist Jill.
Old Business:
Q for a Cause – Canceled due to flooding. Tabled at this time.
New Business:
Facebook pages – Advertising in the closed groups. Discussed adding resources page for instrument rentals and/or private rentals, instead of vendors posting on private pages. Will revisit after new host and page up and running.
Money Handling – Annual review of ABOB money handling guidelines.
Next Meeting August 26, 7:00pm, Orchestra Room AHS.
