President Hillery called the meeting to order at 7:02pm. Minutes from the March meeting were reviewed. No additions or corrections requested.   Paula Fritz made the motion to accept,  Tonya Duke seconded, and the motion carried.

The financial report was reviewed by Cindy Kirbach, Treasurer.    Paula Fritz made a motion to accept the report as presented, seconded by Tonya Duke, motion carried.

TEACHER REPORTS:

High School Band – Alyssa Overmann

  • Marching 100 kickoff meeting went well
  • May 4 is Spring Concert and Arion soloist Katie Scoma.
  • Practicing for graduation and Memorial Day Parade.

Middle School – Sally Pierce Email

  • Our Solo and Ensemble Contest went well. Jazzio’s received a 1 and Schumann received a 1 superior. Our soloists and smaller ensembles from the middle school and elementary all received either a 1 or 2.
  • Schumann is going to perform at the Music in the Parks competition this Saturday, April 28. We compete against schools from all over. The kids have worked really hard and I’m excited to show them off a little!  I’ll let you know how it goes!
  • We are getting ready for our Spring Concert, May 1 at the AMS auditorium, 7pm. Our sixth, seventh and eighth grades are performing.
  • The coffee concert is May 11 in the AHS commons, 7pm. We are taking toiletry and monetary donations towards the McKinney-Vento fund. This is such a fun concert for everyone involved, hope to see a lot of familiar faces. We are performing everything from folk tunes to classic rock to grunge rock!

High School Orchestra – Laura Plummer Email

  • Symphonic Orchestra did very well at the IHSA Organization Contest.  We received I’s from all 3 judges.
  • Stringsation! on March 28 was great!  We did the concert in under 45 minutes-Record Time!
  • My Fair Lady is going very well!  The cast is great and the pit orchestra has been awesome from day one.  Performances are this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 in the AHS Aud.  $10 for adults.  $5 for students.  General seating.  Contact Overmann for more info on tickets.
  • We wrap up the school year with our Spring Orchestra Concert on Thursday, May 10, 7:00 p.m. in the AHS Aud.  Both Concert & Symphonic Orchestra are performing.  Alyssa Plummer is the Arion Award Soloist and she’s playing the 1st movement of Edward Lalo’s Cello Concerto.
  • The winds, brass, percussion, and strings in the pit orchestra and Symphonic Orchestra have been in rehearsals pretty much daily starting the first of March.  I am so very grateful for  these kids that share their time and talents so we can have such a high quality orchestra and musical programs.  Thank you, ABOB, for your support!

  • Having cake and punch at Spring Orchestra and Band Concerts.

Ways and Means – Jamie Pullen Email

  • Button Days scheduled for May 5 & 6.  Hoping event will raise the last of the money needed for uniforms.
  • Other fundraisers have wrapped up for the year.

Spring Vendor Fair – Jill Mitchell

Old Business:
