Teacher’s Reports: 

AHS Orchestra: Symphonic Spring Recital is tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27, 7:00 p.m. at The Bridge Church on 12th St. and will feature several contest ensembles.  Symphonic Orchestra will perform as well. 

Symphonic had a fabulous performance at the Univ. of IL High School Orchestra Clinic last weekend and received very positive comments from Dr. Carolyn Watson, new director of orchestra at U of I, and had a great clinic with Dr. Frank Diaz from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. He told the students they perform better than some of their doctoral candidates, which was a huge compliment.  He really enjoyed working with them on more advanced bowing techniques and musical phrasing. Thank you ABOB for covering the cost for this trip.  The seniors were freshmen the last time we went to the U of I Clinic, then unbeknownst to everyone, 3 weeks later the pandemic shutdown happened. This trip back to U of I was a very special one for the seniors. 

We start pit orchestra for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat March 7 along with Symphonic Orchestra winds and brass.  Spring semester is getting ready to fly by.

We could also use a few parent volunteers in the contest office (library) entering scores for a 2-hour shift starting at 9am.

AHS Band: Concert next Thursday at 7pm in auditorium. NYC fundraiser ends March 7. Winter Guard is in competition mode. Competed in Edwardsville this past weekend. Percussion ensemble performing at solo and ensemble contest. 

MS Orchestra: 6th grade enrollment underway, going well. Solo and ensemble contest

Hospitality: No report

Ways and Means: Bakers and Hale fundraiser made $844. Olga’s dine out March 24. Looking into Taquiera Maya in May. Looking at Duke’s/Cookie Factory as well.

Communications: No report

Technology: Website has been transferred to wordpress.com as of today. Sent invitations to Korte, Plummer, and Willard. Will need to create account from invite to access site.

Craft Fair: Contracts are trickling in

Virtual Auction: Starts Thursday, April 13, ends Saturday, April 15. Need student help Friday after school to set up. Need student help on Sunday with pickup. Will start promoting on FB page in March. Sponsorship letters went out.
