ILMEA DISTRICT 6 FESTIVAL
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18
Make sure you know ALL of the music before the festival: March Slave by Tchaikovsky and Night on Bald Mountain by Moussorgsky. If you can, please try to come to the following rehearsal so I can hear you and make sure you are ready: Friday, November 10, 3:25 – 4:15.
The ILMEA festival fee is $20.00 and has been paid by ABOB this year.
Since we only have 5 strings and 2 band students selected for the ILMEA District 6 Festival this year, we are going to spend the night at the Quality Inn in Carbondale on Friday, November 17. If this is ok with your parents, the cost is $20.00 per student.
We will leave about 4:00 in the afternoon on Friday, November 17. This way we don’t have to leave AHS at 4:30 a.m. like we usually do on the day of the festival.
Mrs. Overmann and Mrs. Plummer will drive you down to Carbondale in vans. Your parents are to pick you up after the concert on Saturday, November 18.
Bring money for dinner Friday and dinner Saturday. You should also bring healthy snacks and a water bottle. Saturday is a long day. Someone remind me to bring a case of water from the uniform room.
Saturday Lunch Option: St. Louis Bread Co. box lunches. Historically getting lunch at SIU-Carbondale has been a huge hassle. For $10.00 we can order you a box lunch from St. Louis Bread Co., or you can buy your lunch in the Student Union at SIU-Carbondale. The box lunch from Bread Co. includes a full sandwich, chips, cookie, and a pickle spear. Please fill out the google form that will be shared with you to place your order and send payment to school.
Folding music stand
Extra strings if you have them.
