Band Update 11/7/16

Hello!

Here’s the plan for the week:

Note: I will be out quite a bit this week with meetings/presentations throughout the state. If you have any questions/need anything, please copy Mr. James (sjames@altonschools.org) in on the email – he will be able to help you quicker!

  • We’ve had a marching shoe mix up after the Halloween parade – please check your student’s marching band shoes at home. If they have initials other than your student’s on them,  please send them back to school! Thanks!
  • The annual Marching 100 ornament and photo flash drive is due. You can find the order form here – 2016-ornament-and-photo-order-form. Orders are past due – please send them in ASAP!!! Email Cortney Frosch with any questions – cyfrosch@gmail.com
  • Concert Band Auditions will finish this week! I’ve heard there’s quite a bit of anxiety regarding audition results – the process of listening to everyone individually just takes some time. Please encourage patience!
  • The Nashville Trip Fundraiser, Trash Bag Sales are due today, Monday, November 7 – checks made payable to ABOB. Please send them in ASAP!
  • ABOB Butterbraids Pick Up – Wednesday, November 9, 2-5pm. Pick up will be at the back of AHS (by the big red box). For more information click here.
  • ABOB Dine Out At LuciAnna’s Pastries – Saturday, November 12 – 7:00am – 2:30pm. Treat yourself and your family to a wonderful breakfast with some fantastic baked goods and coffee!!! A portion of the proceeds from Saturday will go back to ABOB!

  • Fall Orchestra Concert (Fine Arts Critique Opportunity) – Thursday, November 17, 7pm, AHS Auditorium
    Fine Arts Critique Rubric
  • Cudney/Overmann Wedding – Saturday, November 19, 2pm.
    • This is a totally optional event – if your student can/wants to come, great! If not, no problem at all.
    • We did decide to send permission slips home to get in writing whether or not each student is coming – this must be in by this Thursday, November 10! They went home on salmon colored paper last week. You can also find a form to print off here – Cudney/Overmann Wedding Permission Slip

Old Business:

  • I sent an email out to those who have not yet paid the $50 Band Fees for this year. If you paid them at registration, that was for last year (2015)’s fees, not for this year (2016). Please send it in when you can. If you need to work out a payment plan, please let me know. Checks are payable to ABOB, or you can pay it online by clicking here
